Hybrid Bermudagrass Responses to Impaired Water Sources

چکیده
Low-quality (i.e., impaired) water sources are commonly used to irrigate warm-season turfgrass landscapes as a result of limited supplies potable sources. Currently, there is great need define the impacts impaired on consumption, growth, and quality. The objectives this study were characterize actual evaporation (ET ), clipping production, quality three hybrid bermudagrass varieties [‘TifTuf’, ‘Tifway’, ‘Midiron’; Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. × C. traansvalensis Burtt Davy] grown under [reverse osmosis (RO), local well, recycled], each supplied at full irrigation levels (1.0 ET ) over two 8-week periods. When pooling across source date, TifTuf maintained highest visual normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) compared with both Midiron Tifway. This was accompanied by greater daily rate, use efficiency (WUE) in studies. variety receiving recycled 5% 10% less than those well or RO water. In addition, turfgrasses held greatest NDVI either summer study. Visual also fall. Despite having lower periods, these plants had significantly production summer. Also, did not differ from other fall Furthermoe, studies, WUE similar for Results demonstrated that influences critical factors growth considerable variability exists among commercially available evapotranspiration rates, quality, production.

Sensitivity of Triploid Hybrid Bermudagrass Cultivars and Common Bermudagrass to Postemergence Herbicides
The potential weediness of hybrid bermudagrass cultivars in nontarget areas is an important factor when considering the development of herbicide-resistant cultivars. Field studies evaluated the response of common bermudagrass, hexaploid hybrid ‘Tifton-10’, and two triploid hybrid bermudagrass cultivars (‘TifEagle’ and ‘TifSport’) to clethodim, fluazifop-p, glufosinate, glyphosate, and quizalofo...
متن کاملResponses to Water Deficit'
Water deficit elicits a complex of responses beginning with stress perception, which initiates a signal transduction pathway(s) and is manifested in changes at the cellular, physiological, and developmental levels. The set of responses observed depends upon severity and duration of the stress, plant genotype, developmental stage, and environmental factors providing the stress. Cellular water de...

متن کاملPlant responses to water deficit
Plant responses to water deficit are dependent on the amount of water lost, the rate of loss and the duration of the stressed condition. The characterization of a large number of genes induced by stresses involving water deficit has significantly improved understanding of the response. There appear to be several pathways for gene induction involved, and these are being elucidated by the analysi...
